You've seen at least the 2007 movie though right? (I don't count the sequel anyway.) Hot army guy is Major Lennox, of course, who established a friendship with the gun-happy frontline warrior, Ironhide, as fellow soldiers. The teenagers were Sam and Mikeala, and the yellow Camaro is Bumblebee. The blue and red Peterbilt was their leader Optimus Prime, while the ugly green Hummer was the CMO, Ratchet.

Kup and Hot Rod weren't in the movies, but Kup is generally considered to be one of the oldest Autobots still alive. He's a tough old coot, who spends as much time recounting stories about previous adventures as he does kicking ass. Hot Rod is the brash young kid he's in charge of training -- one who will eventually become Rodimus Prime after Optimus is killed.

But all that happens much later and doesn't have any impact on this fic.
