Heroes - Beware of spoilers for tonight's ep!

May I just say how much I love Matt? Cause I do. I love him lots and lots, even more each episode. "I'm a good man. I'm a good cop. I'm a good father." Yes, Matt, yes you are. And you make it look so damned gooooood... Mmm-mmm! Mohinder is a lucky, lucky man to have you. And uh, Molly too. ;P

Hence: GIP! XD

Also, Kensei is Adam?! Okay, I can honestly say I did not see that coming! Oh, I knew the explosion wouldn't have killed him for real... but dude, he's still alive like 400 years later! And apparently, still after revenge! AWESOME!

I haven't seen tonight's ep, so it's a good thing I don't actually mind Heroes spoilers, but for the sake of the rest of your flist, you might want to put the bit about Kensei being Adam behind a cut, because that's kind of a massive spoiler!

(Unless you have some spoiler type policy for your journal that I'm not aware of, of course.)

Er, I just saw the spoiler warning in the subject line. *sheepish* But still, cut = good, because I didn't even see the subject as I was skimming my flist, just the spoiler itself.

I admit, I may not have a "policy" on spoilers as such, but I've always rather disliked the lengths people go to to hide them. I prefer being spoiled myself, so jumping through hoops has always seemed rather pointless to me. Heck, many's the time I've wanted desperately to be spoiled and could't find a single person out there willing to share in case it offended anybody else. Even when I asked privately! Still, I do respect that other people don't feel the same way and therefore always try to preface anything with a clear spoiler warning in the subject line.

Unfortunately, I guess even that's not enough. All possible spoilers are now hidden behind cuts. Better?

I didn't mean my comment as a rebuke and I don't mind Heroes spoilers myself, I just thought I'd leave a friendly note, because I've seen people on my flist get yelled at a lot when they failed to cut spoilers. :-(

It's okay, Nix, I'm not upset or anything. Just sort of... baffled. Heck, I'm thinking of running a pull on it because it's always made me curious how other people view such things.

Take warnings for story content for example. Some people swear by them, warning for every possible offense. Other people loathe them, and refuse to warn for anything no matter how volatile. Many others lie in between the two extremes, choosing to warn only for the major things like rape or death and not for any of the lesser potential squicks that could still tun readers off.

I myself love warnings as much as I love spoilers. I really do prefer knowing ahead of time what I'm about to get into. But it often seems as if I'm all alone in that regard. And I just have to wonder, why? What's the big deal? What am I missing? Is my experience less fulfilling because I don't want to be surprised by a shocking turn? I've never felt so, but most people would probably say yes. It's a curious thing to me.

You know, I just checked in with the results of your poll, and I'm mildly baffled. Maybe it's just a result of pre-selected of poll takers via who has you friended, but I'm really started that no one said they hate spoilers. I've seen a lot of people in various communities I have friended pull giant hissy fits over uncut spoilers. My impression has always been that most people really prefer to avoid spoilers. Maybe it's just that they're the people who are noticed more, because they make such a fuss when spoilers are uncut...

Anyway, very interesting, and I've certainly learned something. :-)

I've held off on reading this. Caught up on episodes six and seven a couple of hours ago and episode six airs in five minutes so I'll see it again.

Was amused at the Kensei/Adam revelation. Mostly because it answered the question of what one of my mates at work was making noise about when he was watching it Wednesday morning. He then pestered me all day that I had to see it now.
