Dare to be different...

I've grown bold, it seems. Signed up for my first ficathon, and in a fandom I don't normally write in. leni_ba is running a Choose Your Own Author ficathon in the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer / Angel: The Series Jossverse, and it actually looked interesting enough for me to give it a go. I'm nervous about it, I'll admit, since I've never done a challenge like this before (and I still don't know exactly what I'll be expected to write), but I'm determined to do it -- even if the specifics I receive aren't my normal cuppa. It'll be a good experience for me, to stretch me out of the small bubble I call my writing comfort zone.

And speaking of challenges, dknightshade is stretching herself out of her own comfort bubble with a new Firefly ficlet called Indigo. It's got some truly beautiful imagery in it, so if Firefly's a fandom you're interested in, give it a read. Knightshade's artistic talent shows through in this one, in her ability to paint a picture with words.

As for the actual picture itself... I want it. Imaginary or no. :P
