Moonbeam's Fanfiction Predilections -- LiveJournal

Written literally quite late (I finished at 4:30am last night, er... earlier this morning) for the Remus/Sirius Raising Harry Ficathon. All stories are, obviously, AU kidfics with a background slash-based relationship. But the terms of the ficathon, having been conceived in May and June, are that there are no HBP-spoilers in any of the stories.

Author's Notes: This wasn't the story I'd intended to write, being much more serious and dark than my usual wont, but it is what wanted itself written. Hope the challengee isn't too disappointed. Thanks to xwingace for the last minute beta.

As I'm sure most of you in the Knight Rider or Buffy fandoms know, dknightshade is hosting a multifandom Lyric Ficathon. It'd be really great if some of you from the smaller fandoms... like, say, seaQuest or CSI or Sailor Moon... could be enticed to join. Get some more variety thrown in to make it really interesting, eh? ::waggles eyebrows::

I've grown bold, it seems. Signed up for my first ficathon, and in a fandom I don't normally write in. leni_ba is running a Choose Your Own Author ficathon in the Buffy: The Vampire Slayer / Angel: The Series Jossverse, and it actually looked interesting enough for me to give it a go. I'm nervous about it, I'll admit, since I've never done a challenge like this before (and I still don't know exactly what I'll be expected to write), but I'm determined to do it -- even if the specifics I receive aren't my normal cuppa. It'll be a good experience for me, to stretch me out of the small bubble I call my writing comfort zone.

And speaking of challenges, dknightshade is stretching herself out of her own comfort bubble with a new Firefly ficlet called Indigo. It's got some truly beautiful imagery in it, so if Firefly's a fandom you're interested in, give it a read. Knightshade's artistic talent shows through in this one, in her ability to paint a picture with words.

As for the actual picture itself... I want it. Imaginary or no. :P
