They have tracked down anyone who has ever reviewed and recommended their fics and sent them a very special Christmas present -- a free, never-before-seen, unavailable anywhere else, for our eyes only, holiday Christmas story! SQUEE!

Now, I admit, I almost deleted the message as spam when I saw it was from "Rodney McKay", but curiousity got the better of me and I opened it instead. And I'm so glad I did! Oh, the story is beautiful! I would love so much to be able to share it with you, but alas I can not. It came with a caveat that it not be 'regifted' on acount that they plan on posting it later, after they finish their current in-progress fic.

So let me just take this moment to tell everyone, especially the SGA fans (and especially the John and Rodney snark fans!) to do yourselves a favor and go read River and Koschka's fics RIGHT NOW! Go shoo, read! They are hilarious as hell, I guarantee you won't regret it. :D

Also, for my fellow Secret Lair denizens, reoune has finished her next Lair-fic called Just Where Is This?! that you must all read -- if only for the early warning it may give you. Deona's getting wily, and has decided to change her hunting plans. Really, you guys need to read this story... it's for your own safety! ;P

It's short, but it's a start. ;) Now if only I can hold on to it long enough to write that ficathon story I've got due in a week, everything would be great.

Because I've been so busy lately that I haven't had time to write a new "Life at the Lair" fic, gumnut has kindly stepped in to fill the void! YAY!! ::Moon does happy dance:: I'm eternally grateful to Nutty for agreeing to hold off the hordes of rabid Lair denizens. No, really... Thanks, hun! ;P

Nutty's new series, "The Great Race", promises to be fun and exciting, with new characters and new fandoms joining in with all the regular Lair denizens. And, horror of horrors, Nutty has actually managed to build a plot into her series. ::GASP!!:: I know, who ever thought it could happen? Trust Nutty to be the one to pull it off. :D

So, in her name, I present to you the first story of:

In fact, I debated about posting it all, but then decided you guys were more likely to hit me for no story at all as opposed to a bad one. And I'm afraid of you -- you're all crazy. ;P

If anyone at the Secret Lair would like to write a short (no more than 100 words) biography of themselves, I'll included it on the yet-to-be-finished Featured Authors page. Write a little about yourself as an author, what fandom(s) you write in, genres, pairings, etc... whatever you'd like visitors of the Lair to know. It's up to you. I will be sure to add links to your websites and LJs, don't worry.

I'm still debating about whether or not to post thumbnail-sized pics -- basically, icons! -- of the author's choice in their bios. But if this option interests you, feel free to email your choice of pic to me at: moonbeamsfanfic@yahoo.com

This is entirely voluntary, of course. If you'd rather not write a bio, I'll just post the links to sites/LJs and that'll be it. But if you would like a bio, you can either email it to me privately at the above addy, or just add it into the comments of this entry.

I think I'm going to need to take tomorrow (and possibly longer) off from writing Lair-fic, so this one's a bit longer than normal to make it up to you. ;)

It also has a few ulterior motives, as it somewhat answers the "Allure" challenge at the_kittchen, and meets the suggestions of four fellow Lair denizens: tomywca, pheral, stormdracona, and blazingskies.

Yes, ladies and gents! Come one, come all! Moon is opening the board in a contest of Epic Proportions! (Er, well... work with me here! ;P)

The Secret Lair needs a slogan, and I'm not clever enough to think of one. ::snerk:: So I'm leaving it up to you, my honoured slaves and honoured guests. Think up something witty, fun, or deep and meaningful! All suggestions will be weighed fairly, and a winner -- if there is one -- chosen from the lot!

What the winner will win, I haven't yet decided... but I can guess it'll probably come in story format. ;)

I think the next major project at the Lair ought to be the installation of a swimming pool -- or at least the discovery of an underground aquafer. :D

Hi folks! I'm sure by now most of you are familiar with the existence of my Secret Lair, right? The extensive mountain cavern I own -- exact location hidden from all but my friends -- in which all our favorite fandom characters gather and much fun is had by all? And fic writers are kidnapped by my highly-trained ninjas and chained up in the Lair, so that ever may they produce lots and lots of high-quality fic for our enjoyment? *eg* Sounds familiar, yes?

Well, I wrote a little something for dknightshade as a joke which she liked enough to spark an entire series. (I've sworn it before: that woman is a fully-registered Evil Influence(tm)! ;P) But, thanks to her, the new "Life at the Lair" series has been born!

The "Life at the Lair" series will be short, funny snippets detailing scenes and moments of, well, life at the Lair! Expect characters from mulitple fandoms to pop in at any time, and keep your eye open for some other familiar faces. ::snerk:: Friends are always welcome at Moon's Secret Lair! ;P
